Dear participants, organisers, and guests of the 1st BRICS+ Blind Football International Friendly Tournament,

Sport holds a pivotal place in Russia’s cultural landscape, embodying humanistic ideals, values, and norms. It offers a wealth of opportunities to uncover individual talents, cater to diverse interests and needs, and unleash the full potential of every person.

Sport also holds special significance for persons with disabilities. It acts as a vital key to humanising our society, breaking down barriers, and fostering a genuinely inclusive environment. Sport is a realm of free expression where politicisation has no place. Any form of discrimination in this area is entirely unacceptable.

I wholeheartedly support the 1st BRICS+ Blind Football International Friendly Tournament and look forward to the continuation of this initiative. I would also like to express my gratitude to the sponsors of this event—companies that support such essential humanitarian projects. I am confident that this tournament will strengthen sports connections between the BRICS nations and promote athletic opportunities for the visually impaired and other persons with additional needs.

And of course, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the participants of today's tournament for your inspiring example. You demonstrate how to rise victorious from any challenge, overcoming obstacles and achieving remarkable results. I wish all of you a splendid game and success in the competition!

HSE University, a leading institution not only in Russia but across the globe, takes pride in its accomplishments in education and science and is equally committed to taking an active and socially significant stance in our community.

This outstanding event is a testament to that commitment as the BRICS Expert Council – Russia, established at HSE University by the order of the President of the Russian Federation and under the decree of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, became the co-organiser of this tournament.

Being one of the organisers, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you on the remarkable success of this unique sporting event, which has played a vital role in strengthening the bonds of friendship among our nations! We are glad that Russia became the first country to host this tournament, and we are hopeful that the next BRICS Chair will continue this initiative.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the athletes, organisers, volunteers, medical staff, coaches, referees, sponsors, and loyal fans for your invaluable contributions to this tournament.

My special admiration goes to the true stars of our sports festival—the football players—who captivated us with their thrilling, spectacular, and dynamic performances. I am hopeful that extensive media coverage and match broadcasts will help popularise this remarkable sport even further.
